Musical Cognition: A Science of Listening by Henkjan Honing

Musical Cognition: A Science of Listening [Book]
While there are several great books on music cognition out there (perhaps most notably those by Daniel Levitin), there have been few I’ve enjoyed as much as Honing’s new book. Not only does the author cover some potentially dry material in an interesting and compelling way, but the book also serves as a broad overview of current understanding in the field. For a relative newcomer like myself, it’s been an invaluable resource.
I could rave about this book all day long, but, rather than listening to my description, you should just click the link below where you can read some excerpts and see what the author himself has to say about it.
Thank you, Henkjan, for writing this book!
